Justice & Mission Work
Course Description
This material from the DOING JUSTICE series will set the groundwork for a conversation about our relationships with people who have severe differences in their bodies, minds, or emotions. You will consider the implications of common terminology used in this subject and learn guidelines for more inclusive language and attitudes. For common responses by Christians will be explored, including biblical and theological frameworks. You will be able to evaluate and compare the responses in light of the information brought forth. This may be a difficult journey, but by learning to understand why people hold certain positions, we will grow in wisdom and insight toward God’s will regarding the inclusion of people with disabilities in the Body of Christ.
Content contributors include Bethany McKinney, Paul Ulrickson, Hak Joon Lee, and Tim Dearborn.
